Transient Student
Application Checklist
Our Admissions Office will walk you step by step through the application process to make it as simple as possible.
After you submit a completed application, follow the checklist below to finish the admissions process. When you finish each item on the checklist, you’ll be registered for the courses approved by your home institution.
You will not be enrolled in your pre-approved courses until all required documents have been received and verified by the Admissions Office.
Step 1: Apply
Degree seeking students from another accredited institution may take selected classes as transient students at Jacksonville College with their college’s permission.
A $25.00 application fee will be charged for each Transient Application.
A new application and fee will have to be submitted if the student is not currently active and enrolled.
Step 2: Pay Transient Application Fee
A $25.00 application fee must be paid through Empower.
Step 3: Submit the Transient Registration Form
You’ll find instructions and the link to the Transient Registration Form at the end of the Transient Application.
The student will be registered for the course(s) on the Transient Registration Agreement provided both the application and form are complete. No further action is necessary to register.
Reduced tuition for the short terms of Winter, May, and Summer. Fall and Spring regular tuition applies.
A new Transient Registration Agreement must be submitted for any subsequent term enrollments.
“I completed the application checklist. What now?”
Be sure to check with Admissions a few business days after completing the checklist to verify everything was submitted properly and nothing is missing. A single missing document can prolong admittance, so be sure to complete the checklist in a timely manner.
Unofficial documents may be mailed, uploaded to Empower, or scanned and emailed to the contact information below. Official documents must be sent directly to Jacksonville College (ATTN: Admissions) from the originating organization.
