Students choose online learning for a variety of reasons. Whether you are balancing a full schedule or simply prefer self-paced learning, Jacksonville College has a variety of degree plans available online. All associate degrees conferred by Jacksonville College are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and will easily transfer to most four-year universities.

Many of our students qualify for financial assistance. Additionally, we welcome you to apply for our online scholarship. We also offer flexible, budget-friendly payment plans.
Register

Apply for the JC Online Scholarship!
The JC Online Scholarship awards up to $1,000 to students who are enrolled in at least 12 hours per term of online coursework or 9 hours per term of online coursework with full-time employment verification.

Is Jacksonville College fully accredited?
Jacksonville College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the following: Associate Degree, Junior College Diploma, and Continuing Education Units. Will I receive the same degree as a Jacksonville College on-campus student?
Yes. There is no difference between the associate degree that is earned online and the associate degree that is earned on campus. They are the same.
Will my diploma indicate that I took courses online?
No. Your diploma will not indicate whether courses were completed online or on campus.
Is the academic content of online courses the same as the academic content of on-campus courses?
Yes. Online courses cover the same content and are academically equivalent to traditional classes.
How do I find out what courses are offered online?
Login to your Empower account and select the term that you are interested in to find a list of courses offered online.
Is financial aid available?
Financial Aid is available for online students if they qualify. For qualifying students, scholarship and grants are available from Jacksonville College and aid is available from the government which includes federal/state grants and work-study.

How do I apply for admission?
After submitting a completed application for admission, follow the checklist to finish the admissions process. You will not be able to enroll in courses until all required documents have been received and approved by the Admissions Office.
The Admissions Office will communicate with you at every step to ensure you know what is needed. When your file is complete, you are ready to be advised and registered for a term.
How do I know which courses I should take?
If you intend to transfer to another institution after completing your coursework at Jacksonville College, you should obtain a copy of the catalog from your chosen transfer institution. You should take courses that are applicable to your intended degree/major. Your Jacksonville College academic advisor will help you determine which courses you should take depending on your academic goals.

How do I register for courses?
Your first step in the registration process should be to contact your advisor. If you are a 100% online student, you can contact your advisor by email at: advisor@jacksonville-college.edu or call (903) 589-7118. Simply tell your advisor that you are ready to register for courses and your advisor will contact you to begin the process.
How do I pay my bill?
You may make payment through EMPOWER. It’s quick and simple.
First log in to your EMPOWER account, hover on the Financials tab, then drop down to Billing Detail Summary. Then just fill in the blanks! This payment option is available 24/7 and effective immediately. (You will need a debit/credit card or Paypal account).
Where can I purchase my textbooks?
Jacksonville College does not operate a campus bookstore. You can purchase your required textbooks and other resources from any number of online sellers. Check the textbook listed in the syllabus for your courses to be sure that you have the correct ISBN # before ordering.
How do I drop a course?
During the add/drop period only, a student may add a course or drop a course or courses by emailing the Registrar’s Office and paying the $25.00 fee.
A student may withdraw from a course after the last day to add/drop by following the procedure as set forth by the Office of Registrar.
Students may withdraw from a class through the date indicated on the academic calendar and receive a grade of “W.” After this date, the student will receive the grade earned in the course(s).
Grades of W count as hours attempted and have financial aid ramifications, but do not affect GPA.
To withdraw from any and all courses, a student must complete an online Course(s) Withdrawal Request Form. The form will only be active and available during the time it may be used.

How do I get my username and password?
We will create your accounts for you and send an email to you with instructions for logging into your accounts. This email will include your username and password. You do not need to do anything to activate your accounts. They will be ready to use once you receive the email.
What student support services are available to online students?
Online students have the same support services available as do our on-campus students. Visit our Online Student Support Services site to find the student support services that are available to you.

Who do I contact if I have problems logging into my accounts?
You should contact the IT Helpdesk if you are having trouble logging into your accounts by emailing help@jacksonville-college.edu. Please supply as much detail as possible about your problem.
Can I participate in graduation on campus?
Yes. Jacksonville College holds commencement in May of each year. You are encouraged to participate in the commencement ceremony on campus after you have completed your degree requirements.
